a little bit about SDS...
SDS...what does it actually stand for?
The acronym which has been in use since 1993 literally means Sales and Distribution Services but in 2007 SDS means a lot more to Queensland government and education.
SDS is a leading supplier of office consumable products, furniture, publications and logistics to the Queensland Education and government sector. Essentially SDS helps customers “buy better” with money saving tips, best value for money product ranges and solutions that save time.
SDS is a commercialised business unit of the Department of Public Works, a dynamic business that utilises the best commercial knowledge to provide a sound, sustainable service for its government and non-profit customers.
Using our combination of logistics, distribution and supply chain experience, we are able to deliver a product mix that is truly competitive in a commercial environment. When customers buy from us, they are helping to consolidate the buying power of government and education markets, enabling us to drive more efficiencies from the supply chain, and pass them on for the ultimate benefit of Queensland taxpayers.
